One-off license and renewals

The classic boxed model works like this: the client buys a copy of the system, installs it on their own server and is responsible for keeping it running. Such a CMS license can be perpetual, but access to updates is usually limited to a set period, after which it is renewed for a separate fee.

On CMS pricing pages the CMS license price is usually quoted per project: Craft CMS and Statamic sell a license for one site and then charge a yearly renewal to keep updates coming. The owner pays for hosting, installation and building the site separately, so the CMS software price on a license page rarely matches what the site costs over a year.

Per-site subscription

With a subscription, the system runs on the vendor's servers and the client pays a fee for each site, either monthly or for a full year at a discount. The platform takes care of hosting, updates and protection, so the owner needs neither their own server nor an administrator who keeps track of versions.

Horoshop, Wix, Tilda and most website builders work this way, and many of them charge less when you pay for a year upfront. The payments never stop, though, so subscriptions are best compared by their total for the year together with what each plan includes.

Free engine and paying for the work

WordPress, OpenCart and other open-source engines cost nothing by themselves, but developers build the finished site on top of them, and that work is paid separately. Studios that build stores on OpenCart usually offer turnkey packages whose cost depends on the design, the modules included and how large the catalog is.

After launch, the bill grows with hosting, paid modules, updates and maintenance, which the owner orders from a contractor or handles alone. A free engine makes sense for companies with their own developer, because without one every change on the site turns into a new order.

Can you buy Seo-Gen CMS or a license for it?

You can buy a CMS from vendors that sell a boxed version with a license, and then the system becomes your own copy on your own server. Seo-Gen CMS is sold differently: it lives on the agency's servers, you connect by subscription, and neither the program nor its code is handed over.

Your payment covers a working site: the agency watches over it, updates the system, keeps backups and repairs its own mistakes at no charge. There is no need to buy renewals, hosting or security updates separately, because all of this is already in the fee of every plan.

What is included in every plan?

The core part is the same for all plans, and you do not pay extra for it on Start or on Platform. It includes a working site on the system and access to the admin panel, and the rest falls into two groups: technical maintenance and help from people.

With a boxed license you would have to find each of these services separately: hosting from one contractor, updates and backups from another, support from a third. In a Seo-Gen CMS subscription they are paid for with one amount, so it is fair to compare it with the whole set.

Hosting, backups and updates

The site is hosted on the agency's servers, backups are made on a schedule, and the site is restored from a backup copy whenever needed. System updates come at no extra cost, so you never pay for moving to a new version the way you do when renewing a license.

Security updates and site monitoring are also included in the plan, as is an HTTPS certificate for the connected domain. With this setup the site owner simply never gets a separate bill from a hosting provider or a hired server administrator.

Support and bug fixes

Support is available around the clock: an email, a message to the Telegram bot or a request from the admin panel is registered under its own number. The plan you choose decides how fast a specialist picks up an ordinary question: on higher plans it happens sooner than on Start.

If the site stops opening entirely, the fix starts right away, whatever plan is connected. The agency fixes its own bugs and failures caused by system updates free of charge, and the only paid items are the custom tasks you order yourself.

One-off work: launch, migration and custom work

The subscription covers running the site, while building a site, migrating it and custom work are paid separately and quoted in an estimate before work begins. Below are the starting prices, and the final amount is fixed after we assess your project.

WordPress sites are carried over by the built-in importer, proven on DIVI; with other themes our team reviews each page and completes any gaps manually. Sites from Shopify, Horoshop, Prom, Magento, OpenCart and other platforms are moved entirely by our team, and what the move covers goes into the estimate together with 301 redirects from the old URLs.

What does the final price depend on?

The plan prices are starting figures, and the final amount on the invoice depends on several conditions that are easier to discuss before you sign up. The list below shows which conditions shape the final cost of the subscription and any one-off work:

• the size of the site and the amount of content on it;
• the connected features and the chosen plan;
• the number of sites, especially in a network on Platform;
• AI usage above the included amount;
• the payment method: monthly or for a full year with a 20% discount;
• one-off work: launch, migration, building from a mockup and custom work.

Card, PayPal and bank invoice are all accepted, with hryvnias, US dollars and euros as the billing currencies. The migration estimate is prepared before work starts, so by launch you know both the one-off amount and the monthly payment.

Example calculation: what a site on Seo-Gen CMS costs per year

Let's work out the yearly cost for a few typical scenarios, using the starting prices of plans and one-off work from this page. The amounts in the table are minimums, and the real figures for your project will appear after we assess the size of the site and the features you need.

1. One site on the Business plan

On monthly billing, Business costs at least UAH 22,800 a year, while paying for the year upfront brings the same subscription down to UAH 18,240. You keep the UAH 4,560 difference, which covers almost eight hours of custom work at UAH 600 an hour.

The subscription pays for the agency's work: the site on its servers, backups, updates and answers to requests, and AI is available within the volume built into the plan. You pay extra only for AI usage above that volume and for custom work if you order it.

2. First year with a site migration

If you already have a site on another platform, the first year adds a 1:1 migration starting at UAH 25,000 to the subscription. Together with annual billing on Business, the first year comes to at least UAH 43,240, and from the second year on you pay only the subscription from UAH 18,240.

Some SaaS platforms charge a fixed fee for migration from another CMS and move a store for free when you pay annually on their higher plans. In Seo-Gen CMS the migration is done 1:1, keeping the look, URLs and meta tags, so its price is estimated separately for each site.

3. Five sites on Platform

The Platform plan costs from UAH 4,500 a month for five sites, which is from UAH 43,200 a year with annual billing, or from UAH 8,640 per site per year. For comparison, five separate Business subscriptions with annual billing would cost from UAH 91,200.

The sixth and seventh sites cost UAH 700 a month each, so a network of seven sites costs from UAH 5,900 a month, or from UAH 4,720 a month with annual billing. This plan suits agencies and companies with several brands whose sites all live together in one system.

Market comparison: what you pay for on other platforms

Comparing prices head to head is misleading, because one amount includes hosting and support while another only covers the right to use the software. Guides on content management system pricing and CMS software pricing also recommend counting the full cost of ownership over a year or several years, including work and hosting.

Horoshop works well for stores that are happy with the builder's features and ready-made designs, while Tilda suits people who build pages with their own hands. Where a CMS license is bought once, as with Craft CMS and 1C-Bitrix, the main amount is paid a single time, but the owner pays separately for the server, installation, site development and update renewals.
